Our Karate program is perfect for all types of martial artists. Looking to expand your game? Learn self-defense? Compete? It’s all here for you in Wado Kai Karate! Join us today and see what you can do!

Kihon is the foundation of our Karate program, focusing on proper technique, balance, timing, and efficient movement. Through focused practice of fundamentals, students develop strong body mechanics and skills that carry directly into kata, partner training, and self-defense.

Kata is the structured practice of techniques that develops balance, timing, focus, and fluid movement. In our Wado Kai Karate program, kata helps students understand how techniques connect, improve body control, and apply skills with precision and purpose.

Kumite in our Karate program includes Kudo, a controlled form of sparring that blends striking and grappling in a gi. Rooted in Wado Kai’s jujutsu origins, this approach develops timing, distance, and adaptability in a practical, well-rounded way.

Kobudo is the traditional Okinawan weapons art that complements our karate training by reinforcing the same principles of movement, timing, and control. Rooted in Okinawan history, it deepens students’ overall understanding of karate.

Meet Our

Instructors

Chief Instructor, Jeremy Mondragon, leads American Dragon Karate alongside assistant instructor Steven Dimitrakakis.

Both provide a relatability for students, with both being in their early to mid-20s. They can also teach from all angles, both being multi-disciplined black belts in Wado Kai and Tang Soo Do, as well as having experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. Our work is backed by the American Karate Federation, led by Sensei Anton Phillips and Sensei Collin Clapperton. Take a look at both Jeremy and Steven’s backgrounds that have led them to instructing Karate in Deltona and dive deeper to meet the rest of the karate team.
