American Dragon Karate
American Dragon Karate is the Karate program at Deltona Martial Arts, led by program director, Sensei Jeremy Mondragon. ADK teaches Wado Kai Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art that emphasizes efficiency, movement, and control over brute strength. At Deltona Martial Arts Center, our Wado Kai program blends time-honored techniques with modern training to create a practical, adaptable system for students of all ages and experience levels. Students learn not just how to perform techniques, but why they work, allowing them to grow with confidence, individuality, and a strong foundation that supports self-defense, competition, and lifelong martial arts development.
Start Your Karate Journey

Our Karate program is perfect for all types of martial artists. Looking to expand your game? Learn self-defense? Compete? It’s all here for you in Wado Kai Karate! Join us today and see what you can do!
Kihon is the foundation of our Karate program, focusing on proper technique, balance, timing, and efficient movement. Through focused practice of fundamentals, students develop strong body mechanics and skills that carry directly into kata, partner training, and self-defense.
Kata is the structured practice of techniques that develops balance, timing, focus, and fluid movement. In our Wado Kai Karate program, kata helps students understand how techniques connect, improve body control, and apply skills with precision and purpose.
Kumite in our Karate program includes Kudo, a controlled form of sparring that blends striking and grappling in a gi. Rooted in Wado Kai’s jujutsu origins, this approach develops timing, distance, and adaptability in a practical, well-rounded way.
Classes
Youth Karate (8-12)
Our Youth Karate program helps students build confidence, discipline, and coordination through structured, engaging martial arts training. Classes focus on foundational karate techniques, balance, footwork, kata, and basic self-defense, all taught in a safe and supportive environment. Students are encouraged to think critically, stay active, and develop respect for themselves and others while having fun and staying motivated. This program supports physical fitness, focus, and leadership skills that carry into school and everyday life.
Teen/Adult Karate (13+)
The Teen & Adult Karate program is designed for students seeking meaningful, well-rounded martial arts training. Classes emphasize practical technique, movement, timing, kata, partner work, and self-defense while building strength, endurance, and mental resilience. Students train at their own pace within a structured system that encourages individuality and personal growth. Whether your goal is fitness, self-defense, competition, or long-term development, this program provides a challenging and supportive environment for all experience levels.
